I think the data collection surveys could be useful as a teacher. If i were to use it I think I would use it for the students to gain practice on using excel. Like we did, I would have them go out and have people take surveys and then have them input the information into the spreadsheet. For me, it was confusing at first but I got the hang of it. That would be my goal for them as well. It will be a good learning process and will be good for them to know how to use that tool. After reviewing some of my classmates blogs I found the most interesting topics were those that were similar to mine. I liked seeing that I was not the only one with the same opinion on certain topics. I also liked when my peers and I had the same view on teaching aspects. It makes me feel better because I know that there will be some one that uses the same tools I do. Overall, it was cool to go back and reflects on the blogs we had for this class. The next technology related skill I would like to learn next is P...

Persanolly I am not a fan of the flipped classroom. To me that type of classroom is far away from the traditional style that most everyone knows today. In the flipped style you kind of help yourself and others learn the material. You can do the learning on your own. Once you do the learning you come and explain what you know. This gives the teacher a way to make sure you have learned the correct material. It will also include more activities. I do not think this style is for everyone though. OERs are to help people learn but with out the nuisance of spending money all different types of resources. OERs give you a way to get some education resource from all over. From the site I was on they explain many types of OERs. They also give out resources for anyone to use. They organize the material as courses. The material is also for higher education. They give out wanted information for the ones who are in universities and beyond. I find it very helpful because I learn more on OERS and see...

From using Diigo I have learned a new way to annotate online material. I have also learned a new way to bookmark sites and have them all in one central location. It can be useful in the classroom so students know how to annotate the sites. Also good for working with team members because you can see what they see and go over their notes from a website. All those uses can be used for individual professional efforts. A good way to stay organized and keep everything together. A power point lesson is a good way to meet all the stages of Blooms Taxonomy. First off the create will be met from making the power point. Then with all the information added it would be evaluated. Then the steps follow smoothly. The whole thing would be analyzed by breaking it down into different parts. With that I would have a worksheet with questions to follow up with the power point. This would fit the applying part. Then they could group up and ask questions from the power point to know that they have understo...

I enjoy using twitter. I like the connection aspect of it. I learned that you can get news on almost any subject from using twitter. That is a major benefit from the site. I also benefit because I can stay in touch with many of my peers. It could become very useful in the future. I have not experienced any issues. Overall, it is a good app and works good! Working on the web design was okay. I do not personally like it though. I feel that I will never need to make one. But maybe one day I will. It could be useful in the future if I need to because I had some good practice while working on the site. The skills I have acquired are the CRAP. Using that I have learned what it takes to make a nice web page from those standards. Next time I feel as if I need something specific to make the site too. I think that will give me more information to add to the site. I will use CRAP in the future. Assistive and adaptive technologies are amazing. They help learners with disabilities tremendously....

ILP "Participation"- Technology Showcase

Image
I visited the Technology Showcase before class and it was a great learning experience. I had a hands on experience with the different types of technologies used in our schools today. I got to use the three different types of smart boards. I used AR and VR. Those were very neat because I have never used them before and it was a new experience. I did get a little motion sick from it though. I also used the robots that are very helpful for the ones learning experience. They have a robot that records video and sound of instruction. They even have an IPad that gives you the ability to incorporate learning with different games. My activity notes: The equipment is very fancy and seem very expensive. I like the white board that plays games. It would keep the kids interested with learning. But if it was for high school kids the normal white boards would probably work best. Or with older kids, I would use the VR and AR. I think they would enjoy that more and it would be more practical. Also,...

On the schools public website, it has loads on information. On it it has specific headings for teachers, students, parents, clubs, & athletics. I see that parents can look at the bus information, schedules, & technology information. There also is a section that leads to all the teachers websites. You just find the teacher you want & click their link. There is information on clubs & athletic events that are going on. There is even a history tab where you can learn more about the school. This is a high school website for Leon High in Tallahassee. https://www.leonschools.net/leon. In the future I see myself using technology even more than today. Technology can be so helpful in many different ways. For example, you can use your phone as a super small computer and can check items on the go instead of having to use a computer. You can also use it to stay in touch with your family and friends or if you are a teacher you can use it to stay in touch with the kids. It is a goo...

Using Diigo was an okay experience. It was different because I do not really use my computer for work. I like to write my notes & annotate on paper. Overall the tool was easy to navigate. It was also very simple to use. Anyone could get the hang of it within minutes. I do not like the online aspect of it but to like the highlighting. I would never use it again though. Blogging is something different. It is just giving your opinions & experience. I do like that about it. It is nice to read everyones opinions & get feedback to your thoughts. It is fun to stay in touch with people with a related topic. I have not learned anything from the process though. It is all really what I knew about it and what I thought it would be. A Web 2.0 tool I would use in the classroom would be youtube. I think their is a lot of material on that site. A lot can of it can really make learning fun and interesting. It is also very convenient when searching for content. It also covers a lot of differ...
